Sophie Demenge and Michael Ryan, the designers behind the sleek and modern children’s furniture line Oeuf NYC,
are a husband and wife creative force based in Brooklyn. Like many children’s market designers, they had a child
themselves, and then were stunned by the void where contemporary children’s furniture, both functional and beautiful, should have been.
They quickly filled it by taking the matter into their own skilled hands and crafting a children’s line for the design-conscious and
environmentally aware parent. That is to say, they appeased themselves,
but of course there was a whole slew of anxious parents and parents-to-be waiting for such an aesthetic breakthrough.
