Recently opened, ‘Beyond the Streets’ exhibit shows the past present and future of graffiti, an art medium that has always gone hand in hand with New York City. Curated by Roger Gastman, the exhibit “celebrates society’s most pervasive mark makers and rule breakers with unprecedented purpose and scale.” The show will include works by graffiti greats like Tats Cru and Mr. A and art stars like Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat. The exhibit will blend photography, painting, sculpture and installations in 100,000 square feet of space, along with performances, lectures and films.
